Well, I don't know their entire business plan. Will they "sell" power plants or will they simply build and retain them as SSTP entities?

If the latter, then couldn't they break up the process so that individual employees only deal with very limited aspect (a "cog-in-the-wheel" approach) so that no one person knows the entire process, and all that goes into it?

If the former, can they supply the power plants with some kind of "ready-mixed" product that contains the catalyst along with other "inert" substances, that the power plant would then add to their locally-acquired fuel stock (soybean, palm waste, etc.) in order to keep it secret? It seems that the inclusion of inert substances would help to throw a would-be-competitor off the scent. But this raises the issue of whether there are such substances that are truly "inert," that is, substances that would not adversely affect the process and taint the end product. I don't know.

Ultimately, maintaining the secrecy of the catalyst depends on it not falling into the hands of someone who seeks to become a SSTP competitor and the difficulty or ease of reverse engineering the chemical composition of the catalyst in the event that it does fall into such hands.

So, that's my two cents. Again, I'm no chemist, so anything above that is chemistry-related is pure speculation.
