Jules2, Cutler - a star OS architect - left DEC to head up Microsoft's NT development team in the late 80s.

If you are using an NT, 2000 or XP machine then you are using a Cutler OS.

He is the logical advocate for a decent 64-bit x86. It makes a lot of sense that AMD gave him an attentive ear before finalizing AMD64.

A processor finally developed with software developers as the design target. Imagine that!


sgolds, I remmember seeing a video with Cutler pointing out the features of AMD's hammer. I know the man has a great rep.
I have a copy of MS Windows XP resource guide, The last chapter (I think) contains an outline for Win xp-64 bits, I am astounded by whats listed as not supported. Check it out, theirs nobody home.
I would say when AMD64 arrives it will be a much more complete operatin system. I dont give a darn if my HP Laser Jet 2100 only prints in 32 bits anyhowe. I just bought my daughter a Cannon laser,flatbed scanner, and Fax machine for $700.00 works great!
