delivers innovative iTV technologies that fuse television-based interactive
entertainment and commerce to close the gap between product promotion and
delivery.
Toward this end, World Theatre, Inc., headquartered in Raleigh, North
Carolina, is working in partnership with leading interactive television
technology and middleware providers to develop an iTV application that will
allow consumers to purchase products via their televisions. This application will
support a wide range of digital set-top box interactive capabilities. In addition,
it will easily integrate into existing cable and satellite broadcasting
architectures and provide an immediate revenue stream for broadcast
operators and additional avenues of distribution for content providers. This
application delivers an unprecedented combination of interactive
entertainment and the ability to purchase products directly from the television
in seconds.
In 2002, World Theatre will launch a music network that employs World
Theatre's iTV technology and allows consumers to experience and purchase
music in a whole new way. The music network will feature programming based
around the interactivity delivered by World Theatre's iTV technology. The
channel will give consumers, for the first time, access to the full range of Major
Record Label artists and their music.
