Still not clear how they are going to address the same security/property rights issues with these video players that held up digital music. Studios won't be happy with the idea of consumers armed with DVD quality recorders snapping up their digitized movies off the cable box to show to whoever they like, especially now that after-theatre sales make up more of a movies revenue than when its out on the big screen.

The move to premium DVD content (ala high value extended version DVDs such as the Lord of the Rings) that isn't released on cable is one way to maintain sales, but that's not going to be enough.
