With Scottrade if you do 3 day trades (in and out in one day) in a 5 day period you are tagged as a pattern day trader.

First offense they slap your hand. Second time they play hardball.

If you keep more than 25K in your account there are no restrictions which is the route I chose after they nabbed me a couple years ago.

Also, there is no limit on swing trades (buy today, sell tomorrow) at all. You can do that as often as you like.

"Sort of" is such a harmless thing to say. "Sort of". It's just a filler. "Sort of" - It doesn't really mean anything. But after certain things, "sort of" means everything. Like after "I love you" or "You're going to live" or "It's a boy".
