Biography
John C. Loupos - a Brief Bio
John C. Loupos, M.S. Psych, C.H.S.E., has been practicing and teaching martial arts since 1966. His martial studies have included Okinawin Karate, several different styles of traditional Chinese Kung Fu, as well as Tai Chi Chuan and Bagua, and more. Ever interested in health and healing for mind and body, John’s pursuits have also included studies in Taoist alchemical meditation and Qigong methods, and Classical Homeopathy.

His teachers have included:

Tao Master Mantak Chia - Alchemical Taoism, Chi Kung, Tai Chi, etc
Master Chan Pui - Praying Mantis Kung Fu.
The late Dr. Xie Pequi of Beijing - Yin style Ba Gua, Qigong healing methods.
Master Li En Jiu of Jinan, China - Plum Flower Praying Mantis Kung Fu.
Professor Zhang Guande of Beijing - Qigong healing methods.
Headmaster Liang Yi Quan at Shaolin Temple, Dengfeng, China - Shaolin Kung Fu.
The late Grandmaster Lee Koon Hung - Choy Lay Fut Kung Fu.
The renowned Drs. Paul Herscu and Amy Rothenberg - N.E. School of Homeopathy.
Master Wei Lun Huang - Tai Chi, Liu He Ba Fa, Ba Gua.
Master Chin Bing Chung - Bak Sil Lum and Choy Lay Fut Kung Fu, Tai Chi.
John has also made numerous appearances on radio and television and has been a repeat presenter at the Zhang San Feng Festival and the N.H. Regional Tai Chi Conference.

To date, John has published articles in Inside Kung Fu Magazine, Taijiquan Journal, Journal of Asian Martial Arts, and N.E. Journal of Homeopathy. He has written three books on Tai Chi Chuan: “Inside Tai Chi...” 2001, “Exploring Tai Chi...” 2003, and “Tai Chi Connections...” 2005, and produced a companion DVD, “Tai Chi Connections...” At this time John is working on a book on Hanna Somatics (click here to view an excerpt).

Since 2004 John has maintained a clinical practice in Hanna Somatic Education, seeing clients for all manner of neuromuscular pain and imbalance. Currently, John Loupos maintains a busy schedule teaching martial arts classes at his Jade Forest location in Cohasset, Ma. and overseeing operation of his two Jade Forest branch facilities. He also enjoys traveling to other locations to teach seminars on Kung Fu, Tai Chi, and/ or Hanna Somatics.
