These aren't salad days for INTC, are they. AMD is threatening the high end, TMTA is a worry for the emerging mobile markets, and now TSMC is threatening Intel's supremacy in chip technology.

One comment in the article caught my attention Bird:

". . .microprocessor and graphic chip companies are expected to be the first to take advantage of TSMC's new capacity to manufacture at such a small scale."

This sounds like TSMC will first deliver 0.09 micron product to nVidia and TMTA. This also seems to support our guess that TMTA is closely working with TSMC engineers on next generation chips. It would be huge for TMTA to be the first chip company to be delivered 90 nanometer microprocessors to the market.

Such a chip would, of course, allow us greater penetration into portable computers, tablet PCs, Web devices, etc. However, it might also be sufficiently small and efficient so as to open the Pocket PC/PDA/3G markets to x86 chips.

Regards, wsh
