I see there are some disbelievers (maybe bashers). However, there are many reasons why LNGT did not go it alone with this. The primary could be that they did not have the experience in the government contracting world. ITT does, and is a major defense contractor. Also, the laser is only a component of the finished product. LNGT is in the business of producing the laser pump. The integration into the finished product might have distracted from their primary focus. This way, they sell the laser product and someone else (ITT) is responsible for integrating it into the final product. Everyone wins. Of course this is JMO.
