apple is supposed to release new macbooks, macbook pros, and ipods in September, and a super secret something too, possibly a touchscreen tablet. If you can wait, it may be worth your time holding off that purchase, unless of course you want an imac. I'd go with the 24" it's the only one that has true 8-bit color.
