Ripper, anyone can set up a non-profit with a lawyer just like moaning did for BLDV. What I should have asked Beth, and maybe I'll call her back, is when was the last time that the firm has had to do any work for the BLDV non-profit. Anyone can go to a lawyer and ask them to represent them for their non-profit activity and then not have any activity so the lawyer don't have to work or, when BLDV was actually doing some kind of profitable work years ago, not have done any non-profit work since that time. In either case, the lawyer for the non-profit is getting zero dollars because there is zero work from BLDV's non-profit as of the last few years or so. You see, companies like BLDV will use lawyers to set up a non-profit so the parent company can't be charged with tampering of the funds brought in by the non-profit. In that regard, imo, I think moaning did the right thing. Anyway, I hope this answers your questions to your satisfaction about how hard it would be for someone or a company to set up a non-profit like moaning did for BLDV.

The other benefit that a company gets from setting up a non-profit is that they can then get listed as a non-profit contributor to different events held in their area. It's a way of getting name recognition out there so people will see Blue Diamond Ventures on a pamphlet or some sort of overhead flag and put the two together if they should ever have a need for the products that BLDV or any other company who has a non-profit might do. Think of McDonald's restaurants. They have the Ronald McDonald house's. When someone goes to one of their events and sees that banner, then McDonalds gets some free publicity just because of the sign. Then when they do a good deed, which I think the Ronald McDonald house does great deeds, then people talk to each other and spread the word about the good deed and thus spread the name of the company that did the deed.

Anyway, hope this helps anyone who had a question about that.
