Nope. Buys. If everyone who owned the stock were to request share certificates of ownership, it would force brokerage houses to ante up as they cannot certify without having the goods. This would force defecient (or miscreant) houses to purchase the real shares to satisfy the certifcates. The net effect of this activity on a large scale, can cause a bull raid.
