DVD writer, 64-bit CPU, 1400x1050 high performance graphics, under $2k - worthy of some hyperbole. I haven't seen one of them yet, but a co-worker was at a meeting where someone pulled one out to take some notes and the whole conference stopped for a couple of minutes while they all oohed and aahed over it.

Apparently it's a very special red....

Acer has been taking market share in Europe, recently. Apparently they make a decent notebook.
