re: Hedging by TIV

If "they locked it all in on a long term oil sales contract" , would that practice normally be recognized as "hedging"?

If so , the below may rule that out as a possible reason for why TIV's sales price per barrel of oil seems to be a bit low.

From their 2007 Annual Report (filed in March of 2008:

"We do not engage in hedging activities and do not use commodity futures or forward contracts for cash management functions."

From their 2006 Annual Report:

"We do not engage in hedging activities and does not use commodity futures or forward contracts for cash management functions."

From their 2005 Annual Report:

"Tri-Valley Corporation does not engage in hedging activities and does not use commodity futures or forward contracts for cash management functions."

From their 2004 Annual Report:

"Tri-Valley Corporation does not engage in hedging activities and does not use commodity futures or forward contracts for cash management functions."
