You have discovered the Inconvenient Truth.
Nobody needs faster Intel CPUs - in fact, all they need is the fastest AMD Athlon 64 that is currently available.

Tell you what I'll do, though.

For $15, I'll take that E8400 and motherboard and RAM off your hands and I'll even pay half the shipping costs - just so you don't feel cheated by Intel's chicanery.
