HailMary, I agree but need to correct one statement. The 'fully diluted' number of shares that is used to calculate profit per share includes shares reserved for employee grants.

Q1 # (from financials): 417,963,000
New shares approved: 17,400,000
Dilution: 4.16%

Beyond general weakness in the stock market, I think investors are waking up to the fact that Intel has changed strategy to meet the AMD challenge. End of NetBurst, introducing x86-64 in August, kicking Itanium upstairs, etc. There is probably a concern that AMD built the 64-bit market for Intel to take.
