Hi rab: re the aroon... I agree with what you have written.

I have read the stockcharts description, but I think that is a far too late signal of a trend change for me to use. Especially if a period of aroon(25) is used. Walkers use of the 70 line as confirmation makes it even later.

Since di- and di+ are the inverse of each other, it continues to make sense to me to use the one which moves first at a trend change...which is, the one in which direction the trend has been moving begins to show weakness first, and a drop below 70 may be used as confirmation of a trend change underway.
