I actually am glad they are testing in a smaller gay population,, you have to remember that this is thier very first shot at this.. imagine if the programming sucks,, if you were to test in a large community, then you would turn that large community off,, a smaller test is appropriate i think.. early mtv looked like high school stuff...dont expect this to look hollywood polished right off the bat, it takes time.
