Ok so this was mentioned to be no more then a cartoon, i will have to beg to differ on that! First point is cartoons are drawn mostly by hand and have a creator or a group of creators with a script for the way it will look, ie. it is drawn to be exactly how they want it to be to coincide with the script.
Second point, well there is no second point that is all there is to the cartoon!
Now Second Life, is not a cartoon, yes sure it kinda resembles one, cant doubt that, however the big difference here is there is real people making that cartoon move, there is emotions behind every avatar, there is also mistakes, like i pressed the button twice and moved two screens away from where i was supposed to. I believe it has been brought up the difficulties of actually broadcasting music in SL. This alone would be a major hurdle in this contest. Also the SL client is mediocre at best, one person with a high end computer with a ton of memory and a video card that screams GAMER!! well they get along pretty well in SL but still have issues at times. A person with a more common computer like a off the shelf Dell, HP, Sony whatever are not going to have the desired experience it requires to hold a event like the one that Vstarr describes.
I was at the event the night of the so called Randy Travis release, i crashed four times that night from the sl client i do have a ton or memory and a gamer vid card, yet it was hard to stay in world with 80 some avatars in the same area. Scam or not this will in no way work as described to work in SL it just won't and if you took not a few minutes but a full week and went on SL and moved around to different events in the world i would have to say you could come to the same conclusion also.
Cartoon or not? I say not! yes it looks like a cartoon in a way, but in no way can this be compared to a cartoon.
