look at it this way...
some companies own other public traded companies right? Why not have another company that primarily does aquisitions? Once the deal is done the company can be listed under the Carlton umbrella...whith out using cash from the umbrella....What do I KNOW? But I worked for a company that had other companies under their belt but at the end, the umbrella name was the main focus to associate it all with...make sense?
