It depends. it can be set to just connect to nets which provides a certain speed, but if the net provides such a speed then the client automaticly detect the net when the device is within the radius of the signal from the net. So if you`re a long way from the "accesspoint" of the hotspot and the signal strenght is weak, then you won`t automaticly connect, otherwise the client switch automaticly after establishing connection to the Wifi-network.
