How is the site managed?
Most boards have a moderator to assist IH Administration in managing them. The moderator may delete posts that in his/her opinion violate the iHub User Agreement. Deleted posts will be reviewed by IH Administration and restored if, in the Administrator's opinion, the deletion was not justified. Some non-stock boards have tighter or looser standards for post deletion and these appear in the individual board’s iBox; these modified standards are subject to IH Administration review and approval. Currently, on premium boards only, Moderators have the ability to ban members without IH Admin approval or intervention.
How do I change my password? What if I forget my password or can't log in?
To change your password, Edit Your Profile. To retrieve a forgotten password or login, go HERE for some helpful information.
How do I put someone on Ignore/Filter/Block?
To block their public posts, go to their profile, click 'Ignore this Poster.' If they send you a private message, and you want to block future ones from them, look just below the message to you, in the blue bar - click 'Block Private Messages from X' Go to Tools > My Filters to manage your filters. Free users can block up to 5 people. Premium users can block unlimited.
My message got deleted! What happened?
The User Agreement/TOU goes into great detail as to what is acceptable and what is not. Please go HERE and read the Message Deletions section (heck, read the whole thing if you have time!). If you have any questions or wish to dispute a deletion, please contact IH Admin Matt.
How do I set up a new board or club?
Setting up a new board or club is very simple. You simply need to click on 'Boards' and then click on the 'Start A New Board' button. Read the next question for more information on where to place your club.
What is Happy Hour? What are the times for it?
Happy Hour is blocks of time where all members have the premium features enabled. The whole enchilada (no ads, private messages, batch message viewing, everything!). It gives you the opportunity to see just how valuable the premium subscription is. Try it out! The times for Happy Hour are: Friday, 4-5pm EST.
What's with this Free Zone and Premium board stuff?
First and foremost, we are a stock discussion site. We'd like to think the reason you came here is to talk about stocks. We offer various levels of membership and board categories to cater to your tastes in stocks, as well as off topic discussions. The Free Zone is a category where stock clubs can set up camp and anybody that is a registered member of iHub can post. All boards in the Free Zone *must* be related to the stock market. The Premium categories are for all off topic boards (unrelated to stocks) and for stock clubs that want to limit their posters to just premium subscribers. The Free, Stock-specific boards are the company-specific boards that are free to everybody that is a registered member of iHub.
How do I sign up for an e-mail list for a board or club?
To sign up for any e-mail list, go the the main message listing for the board or club you want to sign up for. At the bottom of the opening "iBox" you will see the option to "Subscribe to (Name of Board, ticker) E-Mail List"
Simply click Subscribe and you will be taken to a page to enter your e-mail address. Enter your e-mail address and hit 'Subscribe' and you will soon receive a confirmation of your acceptance to that e-mail list.
How do I set my favorites (board marks, person marks)?
To set a Person Mark: Go to the Profile of the person you want to Person Mark. Click "Add A Person Mark." They will be added to your Favorites page.
To set a Board Mark: Go to the Board you want to Board Mark. On the bottom right of the opening iBox, or on the blue bar of any message on that board, click "Add Board Mark." The board will be added to your Favorites page.
How do I hide that huge opening box full of information at the beginning of the thread?
We call this the iBox (info, intro, investor box). At the bottom of the iBox, click on "Hide Board Info." This will hide the info and take you directly to the posts from now on, until you hit "Show Board Info." When there is a modification or an update to it, it will be unhidden to point out the change. You can then hide it again.
What and where are the search boxes?
There is a search box at the top and bottom of every page.
Functions of the search boxes:
Quote/News/Chart - type in a ticker and this will display a full quote with news, charts, and other options
Subjects - when this is selected, you search all of the board titles and tickers.
Members - when this is selected, you can search the member database by alias name.
Public Msgs - full-text search all site messages.
Private Msgs - full-text search all of your private messages.
What is the iHub Mail Box? Is it an e-mail box?
No! The iHub Mail Box is far from an e-mail box. It is an integral part of the communication enhancements for our site. Please read the iHub Mail Box FAQ
How do I get back to the main message list?
If you are reading a message, simply click the top, blue board navigation links.
Example: Clubs/Teams | Short-Term | The Golden Lists (TGL)
To get back to the main message list, you would click The Golden Lists (TGL)
