The problem in the past has been, On2 was a one product company. They had a codec and that was it. No one makes much money on just the codec. On2 tried for years, but failed. Last year they purchased Hantro, a chip design company. They can now put their codec on chips they design. This gives them a much bigger revenue source and allows them to announce new products. In the past they could not announce any new designs on the codec, a customer did not want any information released until they had the new software on their product. On2 no longer has that limit, it's their chip designs.
