He looked it up, said there is no bid and it isn't trading (lately) so Scottrade considers it worthless.

However, I have 2 options:

1) Ask Scottrade to "liquidate" my account of the stock and they will send me a letter for tax write-off purposes.

2) Keep my position (which is what I want to do).

MY CHOICE. They will NOT liquidate without me knowing.

He said the only way that would happen is if the DTC deems the stock worthless, in which case we're all screwed, because the stock is then officially dead.
