It's not hard to understand what goes through one's mind when put under duress daily at the threat of death. The hatred of one's enemies under such circumstances can be overwhelming. It is the responsibility of command to quell such hatred and focus its troops toward the task at hand and what is right and wrong. Command's failure to do so will result in frequent acts such as these.
