From a recent article: "The amount of cash sitting on the sidelines is at a record."
I couldn't find the figure, but know its over 2.3 trillion because in 2002 an aticle called 'Watch the money on the sidelines' said, "Some $2.3 trillion lies in money-market accounts at brokerages right now."
