The 2.4GHz Opteron system costs only $76K for the CPUs, memory, included internal HD, CDROM and case. The same for the higher Itanium entry is $252K.

And that means what? Intel is charging $44,000 more per
CPU than AMD? Or perhaps HP has priced their respective
systems to what it thinks the market will value them at.
