Agreement with Top-Tier Manufacturer Marks Company’s Transition from Development Stage to Manufacturing and Sales of Bio-based Solar Cell Backsheet Component

Santa Clarita, CA – June 16, 2008 – BioSolar, Inc. (OTC BB: BSRC), developer of a breakthrough technology to produce bio-based materials from renewable plant sources that reduce the cost of photovoltaic solar cells, today announced it has selected Connecticut-based Rowland Technologies, Inc., a leading manufacturer of plastic film and sheet, as its manufacturing partner for full-scale production of the company’s flagship BioBacksheet™ solar cell component.

Dr. Stan Levy, BioSolar’s chief technology officer, who spearheaded the selection process, noted that “Rowland Technologies’ high-performance products are recognized throughout the industry for their consistency and reliability. In a related development that emphasizes the high level of industry interest in the groundbreaking nature of the BioBacksheet™ product, the company also notes that Dr. Levy is to deliver a key oral presentation at the SPIE Symposium on Solar Applications and Energy in August of this year. This forum will allow Dr. Levy to discuss in detail the various scientific breakthroughs underlying the company’s BioBacksheet™ product.
