Watch List for Monday 6-16-2008
My new big pick is PGOG.
If you had a choice to buy trash bags that will be around 1,000 years from now or a bag that is going to biodegrade which one would you choose? The answer is very simple and that is why I believe PGOG is going to be a big hit.
"Green Companies" is the hot new trend and the market is valuing these "green stocks" with multiples last seen in the .com days.
I've already watched the solar stocks in the past 2 years skyrocket to unimaginable prices. First Solar (FSLR) did roughly over 300% gains from my initial alert last Summer.
With PGOG trading for just a few dollars I believe the upside potential could be staggering.
PGOG uses recycles plastics combined with an oxo-biodegradable proprietary application method to produce the film for the bio-degradable bags.
This product, when discarded in soil in the presence of microorganisms, moisture and oxygen, biodegrades, decomposing into simple materials found in nature. PGOG Green Bags will completely break down in a landfill environment in 12-24 months leaving no residue or harmful toxins and have a shelf life of 2 years.
Statistics show that 1 Trillion plastic bags are used around the world each year. This is a major sustainability issue and cannot continue!! The problem is plastic bags are not going to go away because they are very cheap to produce and very convenient.
This is changing, 10% of the crude oil used in the US goes to manufacture plastics and with the price of oil continuing to rise, companies will have to look for alternatives.
This is why PGOG has developed a bio-degradable plastic bag to replace the normal bags that are being currently being uses by millions of people.
San Francisco is the first city in the US to ban traditional plastic grocery bags. Passed by the city's board of supervisors, the law prohibits large grocery stores and drugstores from using non-recyclable and non-biodegradable plastic bags made from petroleum products.
The city legislator who introduced the bill, Ross Mirkarimi, said that up to 200 million plastic bags are used each year in the city of roughly 740,000 people.
It's estimated a traditional plastic bag takes 1,000 years to dissolve. "The first order of conservation is reduction and what we want to do is reduce the non-recyclable plastic bag," Mirkarimi said.
As you can see this is just one city and the number of bags they were using is staggering.
This is a huge hit for PGOG because their bags will be legal in these areas where traditional bags are banned!!!
It's very possible that these biodegradable bags could cause a shift in the requirements by big-city landfills? What kind of impact would it have on PGOG sales if traditional garbage bags that last for hundreds of years in the landfill were no longer allowed because a safer alternative was now readily available?
Since money seems to be a driving force behind so much new legislation, if PGOF bags could save each municipality $Millions, it wouldn’t take long before using Perf bags was mandatory for curb-side garbage pickup.
Like I said in my previous email, the PGOG bags have already been announced through press releases that they will be sold through Drugstore.com and Amazon.com. Now if you go to the website you will see other huge retailers listed on the corporate website.
Go to PGOG's website and see for yourself the other retailers that are listed: http://www.perfgogreen.com/Buy-perf.html I don't believe they could list Walgreen, CVS/Pharmacy or Wal-Mart unless orders were in place.
My conclusion is that PGOG is waiting for official order size before anything is said. Go to the website and look for yourself, this is all public information.
Many major retailers have launched initiatives to "turn green" Walmart and their green movement is going to be the driving force others look too: You can read about it here: http://walmartstores.com/Sustainability/
It was make perfect sense for Wal-Mart to carry PGOG's bio-degradable trash bags.
Here's an article published by Wal-Mart that says that consumer behavior shows buying green is going mainstream: http://walmartstores.com/FactsNews/NewsRoom/8214.aspx
I believe PGOG's bags could go world wide and at current prices still look very cheap.
Keep in mind I believe a short squeeze is happening and that PGOG could make huge gains. Always do you own research.
