Hi there,
I should explain how i ment this with vodafone&t-mobile.
It is only a assumption that 12snap just could connect t-mobile and vodafon with the fitting marketing strategy.
12snap could just go to the clients listed in their portfolio, and present them a ready marketing strategy for paperclick. The connection between 12snap and t-mobile/vodafone therefore is given.
At the Cebit I asked neomedia's marketing manager how the reactions of people in europe were. He said the providers had much interest on neomedia but i think they surely will get interested, it's just a matter of time when patents in europe are verified (it takes a long time and it's a paper-warfare).
So this confirms my theory a little bit more and it wouldn't be a surprise if neomedia shows up with the partners of 12snap :)
At the latest when the patents in europe are registered companys show interest. The citys in germany are full of technical freaks who do everything with their mobile phones. Neomedia could just port the application from the nokia phones to every other mobile or smartphone (also pda and xdas with windows mobile), everything just connected to the internet having a camara built-in or pluged in ;)
The software is just a camera view with a red rectangle where the user has to move the camera in the right angle so the barcode is scanable. Then click the photo butten wait until a wap/internet page with a Url is fetched and the result shows up in 4 secs. The first step, the barcode scanning and requesting the server about the barcode is really fast,1 sek or so, then a new white page opens and the fetching of the text and the pics is the slowest which takes about 3 secs.
The results can be modified by the clients with a special login, so neomedia doesn't has to keep a look at databases. The barcode is just linked with a URL. ISBN numbers workin too, just the same. And requesting a Url is somthing that has to be handled by the phone hard/software combination in relevation how fast it is :)
Also the results could be adapted to every group (e.g. differences for sex,age,...) the consumer belongs to.
So perhaps the hosting capabilitys were extended and everywhere where mistakes were made, people are working. e.g. transferring domains to their own hosting system and prepare the system for heavy traffic (e.g. 1000 request/sec)
I believe this company could provide this structure, especially without a database. We will see.
Thanks for your welcome messages to your board.
I'll do my best to let you know something new I get out of this info hiding game ;)
So long,
greetz amin
