There are drawbacks in attempting home brew tests. Notice that Dr. Moro has pushed all the responsibility of studies to the licensee. The FDA now has the ability to enter the lab regarding "home brew" tests but due to manpower and financial constraints, they are not doing so.
The licensee could do studies showing the test detects cancer but they could not market the test labeled as a cancer test. If the licensee did studies monitoring cancer patients, I think doctors would see it as a tool in that respect. I have no idea how insurance companies regard home brew tests.
