Sunridge Reports High-Grade Copper Values in On-going
Debarwa Drilling

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Apr 30, 2004) -
Sunridge Gold Corp. (SGC-TSX.V) announces drilling results from 5
more holes from the ongoing drilling campaign on the Debarwa
high-grade copper and gold project part of the Asmara Project in
Eritrea.

The latest results show the continuation of the copper-enriched
supergene zone to the north as well as demonstrating the presence
of this high-grade copper zone in the Debarwa South zone.

HIGHLIGHTS:

- Drill hole DEBR-008 grading 10.51% copper over 25 metres
extends the supergene zone 40 metres north of the 2003 drill hole
DEBD-005 which previously reported 13.5% copper over 21 metres.

- High-grade copper supergene zone intersected in the Debarwa
South zone in DEBR-013 grading 8.62% Cu over 2 metres at the
bottom of an incomplete hole.

- Additional diamond drill rig arrives at site, now three rigs
operating.

A summary of the significant results from these latest drill
holes are as follows:

Note: Holes designations ending in "R" are reverse-circulation
holes, those ending in "D" are diamond drill holes and those
ending in R-D are those started with reverse-circulation and
completed with diamond drilling. Results from drill holes
DEBR-001, 002, 004, 006 were issued in NR 2004-03 on March 16,
2004. There were no significant values in DEBR-D-005 and results
from DEBR-D-007, DEBR-009, DEBR-010, DEBR-D-011, DEBR-012,
DEBR-014 & DEBR-D-015 are pending.

As can be seen above, drill hole DEBR-008 intersected 25 metres
averaging 10.51% copper with 2.08 g/t gold and 54.41 g/t silver.
This hole was sited on the northern extension of the Debarwa Main
zone to demonstrate continuity of the supergene zone between
Sub-Sahara's 2003 drill hole DEBD-005 (approximately 40 metres to
the south) and drill hole DEBR-001 (approximately 90 metres to
the north). Respectively these holes intersected 13.5% copper
over 21 metres and 11.22% copper over 8 metres.

In the Debarwa South area which is approximately 1 kilometre
south of the Debarwa Main zone drill hole DEBR-013 was abandoned
at 52 metres due to excessive water, but the last 2 metres of the
hole intersected 8.62% copper, 1.93 g/t gold and 36.2 g/t silver.
This hole will be re-drilled, however these initial results are
encouraging in the efforts to define the high-grade supergene
zone in Debarwa South.

The drill hole deviation discovered during this phase of drilling
may have contributed to some of the targeted zones being
overshot. As a result, further down dip drilling is required to
fully determine the full potential of many of the zones and this
work will be completed over the coming weeks. In addition, the
zinc values identified in many of the holes add to the potential
of greater contained metal values for the project and better
understand the metal zoning within this VMS system.

To date twenty-six (26) drill holes have been completed for a
total of approximately 3,300 metres consisting of 4 diamond drill
holes and 22 Reverse Circulation (RC) drill holes. Assays will be
released as available.

Drill production is improving. Recently, a second diamond drill
has arrived on site to join the multi purpose drill. Furthermore,
all 3 drills are planned to operate on a "double shift" basis in
the near future to accelerate drilling productivity in order to
meet the targeted 30,000 metres planned for the calendar year. In
addition, a second multi purpose drill for exploration outside of
the Debarwa Copper/Gold deposit is expected in country by the end
of May.

Sub-Sahara has implemented a Quality Assurance/Quality Control
program as part of the drilling program at Debarwa. This program
includes chain of custody protocol as well as systematic
submittals of standards, duplicates and blank samples into the
flow of samples produced by the drilling. Michael Griffiths AIMM,
the Chief Executive Officer of Sub-Sahara is the Qualified Person
for the Asmara Project.

Sunridge Gold Corp. is a well-funded Canadian public company
focused on the exploration and development of the Asmara Project
base metals and gold properties in Eritrea.
