Chris, Keith, I recall reading (from the Q1 CC, I think) that revenue crossover of K8 over K7 is in Q4, volume crossover in Q1/05. I have never heard it stated when 90nm vs. 130nm crossover would occur. This leaves some wiggle room:

1. Some K8 is 32-bit AthlonXP (in socket 754);
2. K8 volume includes both 90nm and 130nm product.

From the context of the remarks, though, it seemed obvious to me that even a revenue crossover of K8 over K7 in Q4 would require a bunch of 90nm product. AMD just does not seem to be starting very much 130nm K8, they seem to be very confident in 90nm.

Keith, There have been quite a few rumours that AMD won´t meet the clock speed expectations they have set themselves earlier for the debut of the 90nm process, which is again not good to hear.

Given Intel's troubles with 90nm these rumors are unavoidable. I don't believe or disbelieve them, they are really background noise.

The one item that I consider solid is that IBM and AMD have been helping each other with 90nm, and IBM stepped out on the bleeding edge to work out problems on G5. If you work backwards from the public knowlege of these problems to infer when IBM knew about them internally then you get into the time frame when AMD's 90nm schedules were slipping. Also that is when AMD was admitting to be sharing 90nm technology with IBM. Coincidences?

I am hopeful that AMD will have a smoother introduction because IBM took the hit for them.
