Hybrid Technologies, Inc. (HYBR.OB) has teamed with Enviro Custom Homes, Inc., Smart Technologies, Inc., and Sedmek, Inc. to build the world’s first truly hybrid home. Hybrid Technologies, Inc. is a development stage technology company that focuses on developing and marketing lithium-powered vehicles and products, as well as on the commercial and residential applications of these batteries. The company has developed cars, motorcycles, mopeds, small, four-wheeled vehicles, and lithium-powered supplemental energy products for homes that reduce the need for conventionally generated electricity.
The 6,200 sq. ft. home is located in the Pinehurst subdivision in southern Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The architecture of the home resembles a French Country estate, while it incorporates the solar axis and the natural orientation of the 0.85-acre lot. The home is constructed on three levels and features amenities such as a main floor master suite, waterfall, fireplaces, a walk-out lower level, six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a media room, a wine cellar, and family/recreation rooms on all three levels. This home will also serve to provide charging systems for the electric cars and motorbikes that Hybrid Technologies produces. The home will be the showcase for the subdivision, and will sell for around $2 million.
What differentiates this home from other environmentally-focused projects is the integration of the latest in alternative and renewable energy features with recent advances in Smart Home technologies. Elements such as energy-efficient and environmentally friendly design and construction techniques, and a healthy yet luxurious lifestyle, are being brought together to create the ultimate home of the future.
Using the latest technologies, the house features solar panels and wind turbines as alternative energy sources. The home uses Hybrid Technologies, Inc’s Lithium-powered batteries to store the energy generated by the solar panels and wind turbines. While providing a zero-emission, off-the-grid lifestyle, it maintains all the comforts of home, with the integration of a geothermal system for heating and cooling. Upon completion, the home will be open for viewing to the public for one year. During this time, scientists will analyze all systems for inclusion into future Hybrid Living Subdivisions.
