Correction. I just checked the short interest publication schedule and this latest huge increase in short interest happened between trade date 4/25/08 and 5/12/08. During that period, the stock was trading at a high of $0.63 and a low of $0.51, so this excess shorting occured above the $0.5 mark...

It is still quite strange nevertheless...
