Rig, Here is a little DD.
CVIC
About Vietnam:The Vietnam economy is exploding. The communist government has based its move to western-style capitalism on the China formula. Many think Vietnam will be the next Asian tiger and a mini China. Vietnam is located between India and China and many of those countries manufacturing companies have already moved operations to Vietnam. With readily available, cheap and educated, labor, many companies are moving manufacturing operations there including Intel and Nike. Vietnam is a small country. It's about the size of New Mexico but has 87 million citizens. But when you compare Vietnam to Japan there is not that much difference. Japan is the 3rd largest economy and Vietnam is 36th. Japan's land area is just a little larger than Vietnam but with over 100 million citizens. Vietnam has made the development of infrastructure a national priority. About Cavico:Cavico is the first Vietnam company to be pubically traded in the US and the largest non-government owned infrastructure company,. They are basically an infrastructure company although deeper research will find that they have their fingers in a lot of pies. They first reversed merged into a dormant US corporate shell in 2006 but due to some filing snafu's the SEC halted trading in the old symbol(CVCP) and the stock didn't trade for 9 months. Under the original symbol the stock traded up to $1.95 and wa at $1.74 when trading was halted. They have recently started trading again and the price has fallen steeply to where it is today. I expected the stock to get beat up when it began trading but not quite this much. Personally I think it is way overdone and due for better days but you never know with these small companies. The following links will describe CVIC much better than I ever could. Here are some pertinent links: Cavico's website: http://cavicocorp.com/?page=home 2007 10K, should be read cover to cover:
