Ya, until your machine crashes and when rebuilt, you find you have to give up $30 for a third party app to get the songs from your iPod back down to your newly formated system. Not to mention the system resources iTunes uses up.

I have an old Creative Labs Nomad 40G. Copy music to/from it like an external hard drive and very low overhead front end. It just isn't as snazy as the iPod though. LOL!

I think it's the Zune players that let you copy music to other Zune's wirelessly.
