Scottrade brokers tried everything to get me not to cover. One broker even claimed that I couldnt cover because it would be considered a free ride. How utterly lame! It took a phone call to a Team Leader at the National Call Center in order for them to accept it. Even then, the creep sounded like he was doing me a favor. His suggestion was for him to remove my short position as if it never happened. I agreed. I mean, they caused me to lose some $$$ by restricting me from buying over-the-phone and by not approving of me buying online. I didnt want to risk buying online without learning of any consequences associated with it.
