PWSF.OB is “One to Watch”
Powersafe Technology Corp. intends to manufacture and distribute multiple-outlet power boxes. The company owns the technology and patent for the device. The patent, entitled the “Power Outlet Box with Special Protection Logic,” was approved and granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office on January 13, 1998, and was assigned U.S. Patent No. 5,708,554.
One of the principal goals of the device is to prevent the interruption of power to the main unit (such as a computer or medical device) because of a short circuit or other difficulty with one or more of the secondary units (which could be a plethora of devices). Additional benefits the technology offers includes selective fuse protection for secondary outlets, a more durable and reliable design, and more cost effective manufacturing process.
Powersafe recently entered into a merger agreement with Amplification Technologies. Amplification’s scientists have invented an incredibly sensitive photodetector technology that has considerable performance and cost advantages over conventional technology. The company believes it is poised to lead the next generation of solid state technology for low-level light detection. This technology is already patented to encompass detection of signals other than light, and could be used to create exceptionally sensitive biological, radiological, electrical, and chemical sensors.
