PUK Spokesman: "No Mistakes in KRG Oil Contracts"

The Spokesman of the PUK Political Bureau, Mala Bakhtiyar, said that there are no mistakes in the KRG oil contracts. Speaking to the reporters after today’s joint meeting between PUK and KDP political bureaus, Mala Bakhtiyar explained how KRG signed the oil contracts with the foreign companies.
The spokesman said KRG signed the oil contracts in two different periods- those prior to discussing the oil and gas law with the Iraqi federal government as he called them "preliminary contracts" and those signed after that period.

As he said, according to the KRG Natural Resources Ministry’s report, there were mistakes in the preliminary contracts but they were corrected.
"We have evidence supported by the foreign experts which proves that there is no mistake in those contracts which were signed after discussing the oil and gas law with the federal government," Mala Bakhtiyar said.
Regarding the local suspended issues, the spokesman said the KRG Energy Ministry is expected to be authorized by KDP while the KRG Finance Ministry is by PUK in the current KRG cabinet after being reshuffled.
"Both political bureaus agreed that none of the political parties should be deprived of giving ministries," Mala Bakhtiyar concluded the press conference.
