V.. it's sometimes called 'churning' with the MM's buying and selling the same stock back and forth ... today MM-a will sell to MM-b, then b will sell it back the next day to a. Then they flip sides and do it again. Sometimes it's just the axe loading out to the other mm's. Whomever is the day's axe could conceivably move pps either way. Or so the theory goes.
