Byron Grote, chief financial officer, told a conference call with analysts that the crude distillation capacity at the troubled refinery is now over 400,000 barrels per day. The refinery has been operating at about half of its crude distillation capacity since it returned from its shutdown ahead of Hurricane Rita in September 2005. An ultraformer is expected to come online in the second half of the year, which will allow for naphtha upgrading.
