1 ton is 1000kgs
1 kg is 1000grs if metric measures used.
1oz is 34 grs
SO 1gr is only 1part per million, of a ton of course,... OK?
and 1oz is 34 PPM.
1 PPM means 1gr per ton.
34 PPM means 1oz per ton.
Thats how I see it.
