According to CC, Clayton is still very much active in the day to day goings on with the company, so his past and present actions certainly merit looking at if you care at all about real DD. But it is understandable that people want to ignore the past history of this company - but we've been down that road before.

There are plenty of strange things that people can't really explain or understand when it comes to Clayton's role in this business, throughout his tenure in it - and again, he is supposedly still a part of it. Interesting the Novak commentaries about Clayton and the company. Interesting to note his cash payments from Drake throughout his tenure - for someone who was supposedly just bankrolling operations. And there were PRs and blog posts talking about him leaving the day to day operations to leave more experienced people in charge for some reason, and then its brought up that he is still very active in the company. And so it goes.

As for the machinery - and Drake supposedly being "given" the thing for free - it certainly makes sense that it would be put on some property where a sales representative company could show it - that whole situation could be nothing more than that, and would be easily explained that way. They are the U.S. rep arm for the company, right? We are supposed to believe that this part of Drake will produce revenue, right?

Again, not saying anything above is the way things are, but history, and these things are certainly possible - and some here want it all looked at in other, more beneficial ways. To the point of ripping others with a differing opinion - and there are plenty of reasons why that could be.
