This is my reply to him on another board... It might work on some stocks, but i dont see it working that accurately.

How can you come up with a float by looking at the volume?

YOU of all people should understand that ONE trader can flip millions back and forth which would skew any result....This is just one example of how using volume as a method to determine a near accurate float is flawed.

Also, how can you account for various percentage gains on a stock in relation to how much volume it trades?... A stock that moves 1000% is going to give traders more OPPORTUNITIES to flip, hence the inability to accurately judge a float based on volume alone.

Then you have shorts to include into the equation as well.

Maybe im missing something?!?
