Thanks Kastel and Tackler. I learned something today. (Hockey) puck, going through a cycle of translations means “Ice Ball”. Jason, I stand corrected.
I’m old enough and grew up in a small enough village to truly appreciate the term “ice ball”, although in a different context. The “ice balls” in my case were delivered by a passing horse, for use in a street hockey game.
Now I fear a nightmare sleep with a continuously looping Don Rickles’ stand-up routine with the liberal use of the term “Hockey Puck”.
