I think that's what they intended to mean, but actually eminent means distinguished or noteworthy. Imminent means in the future, and hopefully in the near future.
It always dismays me that the company that's supposed to be presenting us to the world doesn't have a better grasp of the English language, or that they're even the least bit careless in their presentation.
That said, I think this is good news and I agree with you that that particular sentence is especially significant.
