This is the way I understand it; Alan verbally jumped all over Ivan. Also, Michael and Alan were non-degreed which, Dr. Propp had a big problem with that issue. I have my own hunch; where it was Ivan and the good Dr. P. doing a deal to bail Adaptive out of their debt and to take the old CIA powerline technology off the shelf (where it went after the standard committee shot it down).
