oh man, wrenching in subzero weather is something i certainly don't miss. Getting new jumper cables for christmas, because you go through a set every year.
Being late for school because you forgot to plug the car in the night before.
Using a pitcher of hot water to melt ice off your windshield cuzz the scraper can't deal with it.

Pulling out cars that are stuck because they stopped in the wrong place (female division). Ground drifting that hypnotizes you as it crosses in front of you, obscuring the road.
Huge snowball-sized flakes, thick in the air, making driving similar to staring into a movie screen in star wars as they go to hyper-speed.

An older neighbor kid, two farms away, that comes home from Vietnam in a box, but they can't bury him until spring thaw, so they have to put him in the little stone building at the cemetery for awhile. You figure out why they have the little stone building after years of wondering.

You can change a starter and solenoid in a Chevy 283 engine nearly blindfolded, and with gloves on, except for the long bolt nearest the block that always gives you a hand cramp and a skinned knuckle. Yeah, your transmission story was quite a starter for me this morning...LOL
