Insignifcant to other times is not the question. What is important is how the earth and humans are being affected now and in the near future. Your analogy is comparable to saying an approaching 200 foot tidal wave is insignficant to the flood of Noah. Tell that to the people that are standing on the shore watching the tidal wave coming.
