I Recv'd this up date from Valerie's husband on her condition, as I read the update my eyes filled with tears for the what these folks are going through. I have experienced cancer in my family and my wife's family and our hearts go out to those who are suffering....PLEASE, continue to raise Valorie and extrapink up in prayers for strength and courage as they travel this very rough road....thanks and God Bless

Hi Plugger--
I would be glad to give you an update. Last week was a very scary week. On the 3rd April, Valerie took a very sudden and very severe turn for the worse. She lost her muscle coordination and displayed incomprehensible thought patterns. Friday morning it had progressed to the point where I called for an ambulance to take her to the emergency room. At that point they were diagnosing the problem and discovered elevated levels of ammonia and bilirubin in her blood...determined that was the source of the problem. This was a sign that the liver had either failed or was not able to process these toxins at it's normal level. According to the doctor, it was "touch and go" whether she would survive the toxins. She was admitted to the hospital, and by the grace of God she survived that bout. The next five days were spent administering medicine to remove the excess ammonia and bilirubin from her system. She was released from the hospital this past Friday back to my care. It is good to have her back with her mental faculties and muscle coordination back in place--God does answer prayers.
We had her mother, brothers and many family members come by this weekend to visit with her. We continue to help the liver process ammonia with medication here at home. We have an appointment to go to Chemotherapy treatment this afternoon, however, whether or not it is administered will be determined by her blood tests (including current ammonia levels).
Valerie and I and everyone who cares about her very much appreciate the work of you and the Prayer Warriors. Our beliefs have been strengthened by your actions.
